Should be the same as mine replaced before Xmas on my Boxer. Went to Costco and replaced my 90ah Bosch for today's equivalent model which is 100ah Cost me summat like £101 but with costco they wont argue if it fails within 4 yrs they'll just change it.

Hi, Thanks for the reply, I'm not a member of Costco, but i have been checking on-line and from the sites I have checked they all seem to be suggesting that the battery size should be approx 200mm high 170 wide and 353 long but the battery that is fitted is only 270mm long (the other dimensions are OK) and while there may be some room left in the length 353 will be touching the bulkhead and the cables that are there now could be a bit squashed, do you remember the length of your replacement ?

thanks

Brian

I have the original in the shed, I'll go measure it for you.

OK my old one was/is a Bosch Silver 9BN and is 334 long 188 high 172 wide

My new one is about the same but 100AH

EDIT 200mm high might be a bit of a squeeze I'd avoid

Hi, Techno

Thanks for measuring it, does it touch the back bulkhead only the one that's on there at the moment is sitting on the base plate as far as it can towards to front so the negative terminal s clear of the wing/bonnet?? but the positive terminal is quiet difficult to get at and has a multi type terminal plate with a plastic cover over it but i can get my hand in and behind/between the end of the battery and the bulkhead but I'm not sure there is 90mm to allow for the extra length of the new battery,

Albeit I suppose there must be as it does seem very coincidental that yours and the ones being offered are all longer than the one that is fitted at the moment ?
Thanks

Mine is pushed right to the back so I had to put the positive terminal on and tighten it up before sliding it in.
I doubt the battery you have on is original equipment? seems far too small to me.

Hi. Thanks thats great your battery is lower than the one i have at the moment and it looks like you get a lot more room at the top. Mine you cant see the back terminal even though its shorter than yours because mine is taller it looks more like its jammed under the wing. Thanks again for all your help i think a replacement like yours will be far better and give more clearance thanks Brian

Forgot to say it's a 5 year warranty too. It's the S5 013 100AH
I would however only buy local as claiming under warranty is a trauma otherwise. Except at Costco!
